IE7.js by Dean Edwards

March 18, 2010

Dean Edwards’ IE7.js recently got an update.  IE7.js is a really useful piece of javascript that helps older versions of IE behave more like the modern versions with regard to CSS and the like. Well, that’s a fairly basic description but potentially a very handy bit of kit:  http://dean.edwards.name/weblog/2010/03/ie7js-update/

… and while you’re there, check out Dean’s about page, published on the webserver he runs from his kitchen!

Quicksand – jQuery Shuffle Animation

March 18, 2010

A nifty jQuery plugin, Quicksand, that reorders and filters a list of items with a kind of shuffle animation.  Very impressive, though whether I’ll ever use it I dunno…

Support Details

If your customer is having strange rendering issues and you ask them for some information about their system but they’re not techy enough to understand, direct them to http://www.supportdetails.com/ and  they’ll get a nice formatted page showing them information about their system.

Content Planning the Right Way

March 18, 2010

An interesting article on Smashing Magazine about organising the disarray of content often provided by clients as part of a web development project.

Hi World,

This is just a means for me to gather together all the useful bits of web design related information together in one place, in an easily accessible format, so that hopefully I can find them again when I need to refer back.

I thought it may also be useful to others, so WordPress.com seemed as good a place as any to host it.

It’ll probably be mainly a list of links to other blog entries, tutorials etc., and as such presents nothing new. However maybe it will be a useful resource for some. Of course it’s biased towards my own interests and what piques me at the time, so sorry to anyone if it seems a bit random.

Hello web design world!

Let’s see how it goes.

Cheers,

Ian.
